To assess the association of semaglutide with incident AUD, the study population included 598,803 patients with T2DM who had active medical encounters for T2DM during 12/20175/2021, were for the first time prescribed semaglutide or non-GLP1-1RA anti-diabetes medications (new-user design) during 12/20175/2021(index event), had no diagnosis of AUD on or before the index event and had a diagnosis of at least one of obesity-associated comorbidities (hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipidemia, heart diseases, stroke) on or before the index event
